2020 Jeffrey S. Crane Preservation Award Presented
The Penfield Historic Preservation Board awarded the 2020 Jeffrey S. Crane Preservation Award to Joyce and Ron Baroody, owners of the Mann-Owen House located at 2129 Five Mile Line Road, at the December 3rd meeting of the Historic Preservation Board. November 15 marked the beginning of the Winter Parking Rules ordinance in Penfield. This means no parking is allowed on all roads/ highways between 2 am and 7 am. This allows the Department of Public Works crews to safely and effectively clear the roadways of fallen snow during the overnight hours. The Town of Penfield is now conducting a Dog Census to ensure all dogs older than four (4) months are properly licensed in accordance with New York State Agriculture and Market Law Article 7. A mailer has been sent to all Penfield households.Town Officials Approve 2021 Fiscal Budget
The town tax rate for 2021 will remain at 2.78 per $1,000 as the Town Board approves next year's Fiscal Budget during their October 21 Legislative Meeting. The Final Budget, including special districts, totals $20,632,799, a decrease of $38,593. The Town Operating Budget without special districts is $17,768,407.
"Good Neighbor Day" Fall Edition
After its cancellation in April due to COVID-19 concerns, the fifth annual Terry Rothfuss Memorial, "Good Neighbor Day" looks to help seniors, veterans, or those who are disabled, with light yard work and now fall cleanup. Organizers are calling for volunteers of all ages to help on Saturday, October 24.Ribbon Cutting Opens Inclusive Playground at Rothfuss Park
An inclusive playground is a universally designed rich environment that enables all children to develop physically, socially, and emotionally. The Town of Penfield was awarded a State and Municipal Facilities Program grant in the amount of $50,000 through Assemblyman Johns towards the construction of the playground.Fall Drop-Off and Recycling Event
On both Friday and Saturday you can drop off metals and appliances, yard brush (no leaves or grass), clothing and linens at the St. Pauly shed, and donate returnable bottles and cans at the scout collection shed. On Saturday only, Eco-Green Park certified document destruction (www.eco-greenpark.com) will be on-site to safely dispose of confidential papers.

The pandemic has impacted a number of programs and events over the last six months, and that holds true for the Penfield Art Association’s Annual Show and Sale.
