Note from Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts: Communication is a top priority
One of the most important things I can do as Town Supervisor, and we can do as a Town Government, is communicate. Since I took office in January, this has been among my top priorities. An informed community is a better community, and that’s exactly what my goal is as your Town Supervisor.

Right now, we offer several ways to stay up to date with the latest news and information, including:
More mailers, videos, and social media

We are excited to add new communication tools to build on what we already have in place. This includes increasing our use of informational mailers. Whether it is through a letter in the mail, a postcard reminder, or more information in our Recreation Brochure, enhanced mailings will provide another way to inform a broader audience about happenings in our community.

Additionally, I will be partnering with Penfield Community Television to create short videos to highlight hot topics and events. I know people best consume information in various ways, and it’s my goal to provide a range of opportunities, including video, to meet the needs of all residents.

And finally, I am working to increase our social media presence. I just launched my Town Supervisor Facebook page, and if you’re on Facebook I encourage you to follow my page.

Sit-Down with the Supervisor

With all that said, communication is a two-way street. Not only do we want to provide you with the latest information, but we also want to hear what questions or concerns you have.

To help with this, I am starting regular meetings with our community that I will call Sit-Down with the Supervisor. Each month, at a location around Town, I will be available to meet with residents and learn about your priorities for Penfield. The first Sit-Down with the Supervisor is happening on Tuesday, February 27 at Town Hall (3100 Atlantic Ave) from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. I look forward to speaking with many of you about how we can make Penfield even better.

We’re always looking to improve, so if you think there is a method of communication we are missing, please reach out.

See you around!

Jeff Leenhouts, Town Supervisor
