This month’s Staff Spotlight highlights the work of Town of Penfield Fire Marshal Jeff David. Jeff started with the Town of Penfield in 2014 as Assistant Fire Marshal and has been in his current role of Town Fire Marshal since 2017.As Fire Marshal, Jeff handles duties such as fire safety inspections, emergency response, and community education and outreach. Jeff ensures sprinkler systems are in working order in commercial buildings and cooking equipment in the kitchen of your favorite restaurant meets proper safety standards.
One of the biggest undertakings for Jeff each year is the development of emergency response plans for the Town of Penfield Independence Day Celebration. For those who have attended the event, the work that Jeff does each year helps ensure you can safely enjoy the festivities including the fireworks display.
“The work Jeff does helps to keep our community safe, and we are lucky to have him,” said Heidi Boehl, Building/Fire Marshal/Code Enforcement Departments Supervisor. “While much of what he does may go unseen, it’s essential to our community.”
Along with his duties at the Town of Penfield, Jeff also serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Penfield Fire District.
