Entries now being accepted for 2024 Memorial Day Essay Contest
The Town of Penfield's annual Memorial Day Essay Contest is underway.

The essay topic is How are you Inspired by America? Essays should be 500 words or less, typed in 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced, and no more than two pages in length. All students, grades 6-8, in all Penfield schools, or who are Penfield residents, are invited to submit essays to compete in the contest.

The top three entries will receive cash awards:
  • 1st place: $150
  • 2nd place: $125
  • 3rd place: $100
In addition to a cash prize, the three winners will read their work as part of the Town of Penfield Memorial Day Ceremony of Remembrance on Monday, May 27, at Veterans Memorial Park.
