Supervisor Leenhouts congratulates Elyse Voigt, March Staff Spotlight recipient
Penfield Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts is thrilled to announce Chief Court Clerk Elyse Voigt as the Town of Penfield’s Staff Spotlight for March 2024.

Beginning as a part-time employee with Penfield Town Court in 2013, Elyse accepted a full-time position as Court Clerk in 2015. She was promoted to Chief Court Clerk in 2018.

In her current role, Elyse assists Judge Metzler in preparing the court calendar, and during Court proceedings with opening case files, preparing court documents, and reporting disposition information to the Department of Motor Vehicles and Division of Criminal Justice Services. She also oversees the administrative responsibilities of the Court.

“Elyse is the calm every Court needs," said co-worker Kirsten Shepanski. "Not only is she resourceful and meticulous with her work, but she’s also compassionate and understanding. It has been such an honor working as her co-clerk, she is the glue that holds the Court together. The Town of Penfield and the Justice Court are beyond blessed to have such a dedicated and loyal Chief Clerk.”

To prepare for her career, Elyse attended Monroe Community College and received a degree through the paralegal studies program.

“Ensuring our legal system operates efficiently is incredibly important,” said Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts. “Elyse plays a critical role in this, and we are fortunate to have her serving the Town of Penfield.”
