Penfield Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts to host groundbreaking event on April 17 to mark construction of recreation area at Shadow Pines
The Town of Penfield will hold a groundbreaking event on Wednesday, April 17, at 1:30 p.m. to formally mark the start of construction on a new recreation area at Shadow Pines.

Community members are invited to join Town officials and local leaders to celebrate the project which will include ten pickleball courts, a picnic area, an open-air pavilion, two inclusive playgrounds, walking trails, restrooms, and a parking area. Work is scheduled to be completed by late fall.

“I look forward to joining the community to kick off this project as we bring new amenities to Shadow Pines,” said Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts. “There truly is something for everyone with eight standard pickleball courts, two accessible pickleball courts, and two inclusive playgrounds with different designs for respective age groups.”

Those attending should park in the Shadow Pines property's main parking lot (600 Whalen Road) and walk to the groundbreaking site in the northeast corner of the property. Directional signs will be posted.
