NYS DOT Project at Five Mile and Atlantic Begins Week of April 12
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) and Keeler Construction Company have announced the start of construction at the intersection of NY-286 (Atlantic Ave) and CR-18 (Five Mile Line Rd). Beginning Monday, April 12, the Phase I traffic switch, which entails shifting east and west bound lanes on Atlantic Avenue two feet north, will be installed. Two way traffic will be maintained throughout construction using these lane shifts, however, temporary lane closures are possible.

Project lead-in signs will be installed by Keeler on April 8 and 9. Commuters and pedestrians who frequently use this intersection are advised to look at alternative routes during this time as delays are expected.
With this project, NYDOT is looking to improve traffic flow and reduce the frequency and severity of crashes at Atlantic Avenue and Five Mile Line Road.

Construction is expected to continue throughout the summer and into the early fall of 2021. The Town of Penfield will share updates on this project at www.penfield.org | Projects of Community Interest Page when they are provided by DOT.

You can subscribe to be notified of updates on the town's E-Notify page.
