Finance

The Finance Office is the long term financial planning and day-to-day business operation center of the Town of Penfield.

The town comptroller is responsible for the Finance Office and works closely with the town supervisor (chief fiscal officer) to plan, manage, protect, and report on the Town of Penfield's financial resources.

The comptroller prepares and oversees annual operating and capital budgets in coordination with the town supervisor and department heads; develops financial policies; and continuously reviews operations to ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and federal, state, and local laws.

Additional responsibilities of the Finance Office include managing the town’s investments, debt services, credit rating, and insurance programs.

Day-to-day operations of the Finance Office include all banking activities, financial forecasting, and reporting, accounts receivable and accounts payable, fixed asset inventory, and annual audits. The Finance Office also provides and/or coordinates the purchase of goods and services.
