Leenhouts begins term as Penfield Town Supervisor

The Town of Penfield officially has a new leader as Jeff Leenhouts began his two-year term as Penfield Town Supervisor on Monday, January 1.

With his term underway, Leenhouts has identified three areas of priority:
  • Advance current projects including the new DPW facility
  • Continue to strengthen partnerships with law enforcement to ensure Penfield is a safe and thriving community
  • Identify Town services and programs that can be added or expanded
"As we begin 2024, it is essential that we maintain our momentum and continue pursuing important projects such as the construction of a new DPW facility, which will benefit our community and enhance the Town's operational efficiency," said Supervisor Leenhouts. "Furthermore, it is equally important to identify new opportunities to improve the services we offer to our residents. I am honored to lead this effort, and I am confident that my colleagues on the Town Board share my commitment to serving our community."

To mark the transition to new leadership, a swearing-in event was held on Wednesday, January 3 at Penfield Town Hall. Along with Supervisor Leenhouts, Town Justice Paula Metzler, and Town Board members Linda Teglash and Kevin Berry were sworn in at the Wednesday evening event. Metzler, Teglash, and Berry will each serve four-year terms that began on January 1.

Leenhouts, Teglash, and Berry join Bob Ockenden and Candace Lee on the five-member Penfield Town Board.
