Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts announces Junior Planner Matt Prinzing as February Staff Spotlight recipient
The February Staff Spotlight features one of Penfield Town Hall’s newest employees, Junior Planner Matt Prinzing.

Prinzing has been with the Town of Penfield since January 2023. In his role, he maintains and updates the Town's geospatial databases and maps, assists with the intake and review of planning, zoning, and building plans, and works on the development of planning studies and reports. He also serves as staff liaison to the Planning Board, Energy and Environmental Conservation Committee, and the Clark Road Barn Advisory Committee.

A fun fact about Matt is through his work with the Town of Penfield, he learned that his great-grandfather previously owned over 50 acres in the Town of Penfield near the intersection of present-day State Road and Jackson Road. He came across this information while reviewing a plat map from 1924. He also recently received a master’s degree in Applied Geospatial Information Technologies.

“I want to thank Matt for all he does,” Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts said. “The work he does each day with our GIS and mapping systems allows us to operate more efficiently, and better serve the community. I know Matt is a big hockey fan as well, and I always enjoy bumping into him at Rochester Amerks games throughout the season.”

Before joining the team, Matt held public sector roles in information technology and biological research.
