The Penfield Art Association (PAA) is gearing up for its 2013 Spring Show, which takes place June 10 – 14 at Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Road. The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held Monday, June 10, from 7 – 9 PM. The recipient of the PAA's annual student scholarship award will be introduced during the opening. Memorial Day Ceremony of Remembrance

The Town of Penfield will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony of Remembrance on Monday, May 27 at Penfield Amphitheater in Veterans’ Memorial Park, 3100 Atlantic Avenue. Penfield’s annual resident spring drop-off runs this Thursday and Friday, May 9 and 10, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 11, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to dispose of household materials and brush at the Public Works Complex, 1607 Jackson Road. FREE Guided Scenic Paddle May 11

The Penfield Trails Committee will sponsor a free guided canoe and kayak paddle on Saturday, May 11, 9:00 – 11:00 am. This guided paddle tour along Irondequoit Creek will head downstream from Ellison Park through the narrows and the marshland, viewing the spring flora and fauna along the way.
