 Rules and Information
for Park Shelters, Picnic Areas and Athletic Fields

Please note: 2011 lodge reservations will be accepted beginning December 1 online and in the Recreation office.


To find out dates available for any of the rentable facilities, please view
the calendar online (sign in as "guest").  Facilities may only be reserved on-line
or in person at the Recreation office, 1985 Baird Rd.



Veterans' Memorial Park (85 acres)

Located behind Penfield Town Hall at 3100 Atlantic Avenue

This facility includes little league fields, softball fields, multi-use rectangular fields, a nature trail, a fitness exercise course, handicapped accessible play equipment, an open shelter, basketball and lighted tennis courts, and restrooms.

Weekends - $200 resident/$280 non-resident* 
Exception: Fees for 11/25/10 - 11/28/10 are $250 resident/$300 non-resident
Available: January 4 - December 22, 2010
Shelter closed: 4/2 - 4/4, 7/2-7/4, 10/31 (after 5pm)

Features: timber-frame construction, gas fireplace, radiant floor heat, air conditioning, kitchen & large outdoor grill, refrigerator/freezer, electric range w/ oven, covered front porch, brick patio, folding tables (14 - 72" round, 5 - 6' rectangular), 100 stacking chairs, restrooms, trash/recycle recepticles, 7 groundfault recepticles, handicap accessible.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Harris Whalen Park
(45 acres)

2126 Penfield Road.  Located just west of the intersection of Rt. 250 & 441, directly opposite Wegmans

This facility includes a multi-use rectangular field, nature trails, softball fields, basketball courts, playground equipment, lighted tennis courts, cross country ski trails, picnic areas, bocce courts, shelters, sledding hill, and restrooms.

  Channing Philbrick Park (19 acres)

1 Linear Park Drive.  Located off Rt. 441, just west of the intersection of Five Mile Line Rd. and Rt. 441

This facility includes nature trails, handicapped accessible fishing, picnic areas, an open shelter,
and restrooms.

Rothfuss Park (70 acres)

Located at 1648 Five Mile Line Rd., north of Atlantic Avenue.

*There is not a rentable enclosed facility in this park*

This is Penfield's newest park land.  It is a multi-use park, built on former farmland, with
4 full-sized rectangular athletic fields, picnic pavilions and sesonal public restrooms.
 




Greenwood Park
(21 acres)

Located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Embury and Scribner Rds.

This facility includes a softball field, basketball court, tennis courts, play equipment,
and multi-use field.



Penfield Community Center (8 acres)

Located at 1985 Baird Rd.

Gymnasium with basketball court, stage, community room with kitchen, outdoor play
equipment equipped for disabled, public library, justice courts, local history room, senior
citizens lounge and activity rooms.



Schaufelberger Park (.25 acres)

Located at the intersection of Five Mile Line Rd. and Rt. 441

This decoratively landscaped park sits in the heart of Penfield's Four Corners area,
the historic center of our community.



The Park at LaSalle's Landing (1.7 acres)

Located at 1080 Empire Boulevard on Irondequoit Bay

This waterfront facility is currently being developed.

Ball Fields:

$15.00/game/2 hour time block for softball and baseball fields**

(**exception: additional fees for lighted fields & large new baseball field at Veterans'
Memorial Park - call for info. and reservation procedure)

Rectangular fields in town parks: fees TBA


Park Security

Our Town facilities are monitored daily by security officers.  If you have a park problem
or emergency, they can be paged weekday evenings at 279-6522 or 279-6516, and
weekends 279-6521(am) or 279-6522(pm) or all day at  279-6516.  The park ordinance
is strictly enforced with appearance tickets.

Please note: Vandalism in any park is expensive and senseless.  Help us keep the Town
of Penfield Parks beautiful.  Also, remember not to park in handicap zones, emergency or
fire lanes, as tickets are issued regularly.
