 Judge James P. Mulley, Jr.
Judge Mulley was elected as Penfield Town Justice November 3, 2009.
In addition to serving as Town Justice, Judge Mulley is employed as Executive Assistant, New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Fourth Department, assisting the Presiding Justice in the management of court activities in a twenty-two county region. He previously served as Special Counsel to the Monroe County Executive, Acting Monroe County Public Safety Director, and as a law clerk in NYS Supreme Court. Mr. Mulley is also an experienced trial attorney, having worked as Supervising Attorney in the Monroe County Juvenile Prosecutor's Office and as a Special Assistant in the Monroe County Public Defender's Office.
Mr. Mulley has been an Adjunct Professor in the Criminal Justice Department at RIT since 1994. He has served on several regional councils, including the Juvenile Justice Council, the Criminal Justice Council, the Board of Visitors at Industry and the Stop DWI Technical Advisory Board.
Judge Mulley is a former Penfield Town Board member. He joined the Town Board in 2005 and was named Deputy Supervisor in 2008. As a councilman, he chaired the Town's Law and Finance Committee.
Mr. Mulley has earned many honors and distinctions in his legal career, including the 2002 Nathaniel Award, presented by the Daily Record to individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to justice through professional accomplishments and community service. He also received the 2006 Senior Class Award from the Criminal Justice Department at RIT, and the 1999 Teddi Award, the highest honor awarded by Camp Good Days and Special Times.
