Penfield POPS Band June 14 & July 19 at 7:00 PM   Tastin' the Blues September 18 12-4 pm A fun-packed afternoon of great blues music, chili judging and beer sampling at the Penfield Amphitheater. The Scandals will open for Steve Grills and the Roadmasters, who bring their hard driving Chicago-style blues, along with special guest Joe Beard, to the stage. JW Dundee will be providing a line up of locally brewed beer for sampling, chili contestants will have hot chili available for judging, and event goers can just enjoy the day. A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon and to round out the 2010 Amphitheater program at Pen Rocks! YOHP presents Our Town August 13 & 14, 2010 Our Town by Thornton Wilder follows the small town of Grover's Corners through three acts: "Daily Life," "Love and Marriage," and "Death and Eternity." Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, audiences follow the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually--in one of the most famous scenes in American theater--die. Our Town is representational of small American towns at the turn of the century, including Penfield. This presentation will include a video diorama of "Our Town Penfield" as slides of Penfield appear as a backdrop to this poignant historical play. Performances are free and are held at Penfield Amphitheater, Veterans Memorial Park, 3100 Atlantic Avenue. Performances begin at 8:45 pm.
