In the coming weeks, the Penfield Department of Public Works will start construction on a new parking lot at Rothfuss Park (1648 Five Mile Line Road).

The parking lot, which will be built in the northeast corner of the park, will feature 88 parking spaces. An access road will be constructed from the existing parking lot at the north end of the park to enter the new lot.

Once started, the project is scheduled to take roughly one month to complete and is expected to be ready for use during the spring sports season. The addition of the new lot will help meet the demand for additional parking as three new athletic fields open at Rothfuss Park this spring.

During construction, areas of the park may be impacted. Park visitors are asked to give crews room to work, and observe all posted signage and closures.
