Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts announces $624,000 grant for improvements at LaSalle's Landing Park

Penfield Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts is excited to announce the Town of Penfield has received a $624,000 grant to fund improvements at LaSalle’s Landing Park (1080 and 1140 Empire Blvd). Improvements will include the construction of a restroom facility with an attached open-air pavilion at this Irondequoit Bay waterfront park.

The project advances the goals of the Town’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program by providing additional amenities to improve the park experience and enhance public access along the bay. Grant funding was obtained through the Environmental Protection Fund Local Waterfront Revitalization Program as part of the New York State 2023 Consolidated Funding Application.

“This is a tremendous win for our community,” said Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts. “The waterfront along Irondequoit Bay is an incredible asset for our community, and with this grant funding we will provide improved opportunities to enjoy the bay.”

Project planning is underway, and the construction timeline is currently being developed. Ongoing project updates will be available at www.penfield.org.
