Staff Spotlight: Celebrating Bill Buttle and 21 years of service

There are countless employees behind the scenes who keep the Town of Penfield moving forward. For 21 years, Bill Buttle was a key part of that team.

Buttle (pictured center), who recently retired, was an evening cleaner at Penfield Community Center. He has dedicated much of his life to the service of his country and community. Bill is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked for many years with the United States Postal Service. After retiring from the post office, Buttle continued serving his community through his work at the community center.

“We are incredibly lucky to have dedicated employees like Bill,” said Town Supervisor Debbie Drawe. “On behalf of the Town Board, I want to thank Bill for all he has done, and wish him a very happy and healthy retirement.”

“He will be missed by many,” added Facilities Foreman Jim Kreckman. “He was always available to cover co-worker's time off. He’s a great husband, father, and grandfather, and we appreciate all he did for the community.”

Thanks for all you’ve done for the Town of Penfield, Bill. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement.
