Message from Supervisor Tony LaFountain: Thank You Penfield

Greetings,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season!

For the past 12 years it has been my honor to serve all the residents of Penfield as your town supervisor, and as 2021 ends so will my term in elected office. Over the years I have met so many of you at different functions, meetings, events, and programs. All of you have touched my life in so many ways and that has helped shape who I have become—for that I say thank you.

I want to recognize and thank an amazing town staff; this group of men and women are the best of the best across this county and across this region. Their professionalism in all aspects of local government is a benchmark for their peers in other communities.

To my fellow elected officials in Penfield and across the county from both sides of the aisle, thank you for your friendship, our shared willingness to collaborate, and overall support.

Finally, to my family, as an elected official you tend to miss several important events each year such as school events, birthdays, and more of life’s milestones. Thank you for your support and understanding, I could not have done this job without everything you have done to assist me on the home front.

When my wife Lyn and I came to this wonderful community in 1975 we immediately knew Penfield was home. Over the last 46+ years we raised our daughters Jennifer and Stacey, and we are now watching our two grand-daughters Ava and Adyson growing up.

As I head into my next chapter, it begins by giving back to Penfield through volunteerism and I look forward to supporting several very worthwhile organizations.

In 1810 Daniel Penfield established the Town of Penfield, the first of the seven east-side towns in the county. Over the years we have grown to be one of the most popular communities where individuals and families want live, work, and raise their families; I am honored to have supported Penfield in a small way on this journey.

Finally, my very best to a good friend Marie Cinti who will be Penfield’s next supervisor. Her love for this community is second to none and she will lead us through that next important chapter of our town’s growth.

Thank you all again for the support…Happy New Year!

Tony
