The Streets of Rochester, a Century Ago (in-person)

New York Museum of Transportation Trustee Jim Dierks will show hundreds of photographs depicting our area’s history of moving people and things. Among these are photos made by New York State Railways, operators of our city streetcars. In 140 black-and-white images, we’ll see vintage autos, early trucks, a few streetcars, and in a few cases the results of altercations between them.

Copies of the book will be available at the circulation desk or for curbside pickup starting mid-August. Librarians Kim Catalanello and Candice Johnson will co-host.

Folded Fabric Pumpkins (in-person)

Linda Bowers will show you how to create a decorative pumpkin for the fall using a foam shape, fabric pieces, and straight pins. Completed pumpkin will appear to be quilted, although no sewing is involved. Please bring a small, sharp pair of scissors if you have them.
