Parking Restrictions
Parking restrictions will be enforced to guarantee safe passage for emergency vehicles during the Town's Independence Day Celebration. "No Parking" signs will be posted on Friday, June 28, and removed after the event. The Monroe County Sheriff's Department will be monitoring compliance. Tickets will be issued, and cars will be towed at the owner's expense.

Harris Whalen Park Neighborhood
Parking will be prohibited on one side of these neighborhood streets adjacent to Harris Whalen Park:

  • Avonmore Way
  • Hidden Meadow
  • Hillrise Drive
  • Lazy Trail
  • Timber Glen Trail
  • Valley Green Circle
  • Valley Green Drive
  • Maple Hill Farm Road
  • Maple Leaf Circle
Baird Road Neighborhood
Parking will be prohibited on one side of Wheelock Road and the southern portion of Peachtree Road.
Parking will be prohibited on both sides of the following streets:
 
  • Baird Road north of 441 to Whalen Road
  • Hotchkiss Circle
  • Henderson Drive
  • Kenmont Drive
  • Peachtree Road (northern portion)

Handicap Parking: Please note that vehicles parked in the Harris Hill Elementary School Parking Lot must remain there until the crowd disperses after the fireworks show, which is usually around 11:30 PM.

Penfield's famous fireworks show is back! Fireworks launch at 10:00 PM from the hill at Harris Whalen Park. The show is visible from miles around!

There will be parking by permit only in the park. Parking is available in various plazas surrounding the park. Spectators should plan to arrive around 9:30 PM if they plan to enter the park for the show. The park will be cleared immediately following the conclusion of the fireworks.

To avoid congestion, spectators are encouraged to view the fireworks show from a location outside of Harris Whalen Park.

Fireworks Traffic Flow & Parking
To provide for a smooth traffic flow and pedestrian safety, after the fireworks at Harris Whalen Park, the Town Board has established the following parking facilities and traffic restrictions: ** Traffic pattern goes into effect at 9:45 PM **
Penfield Road is Route 441. 

Wegmans Parking Lots:
The main exit at Penfield Road, across from Harris Whalen Park: All traffic will be directed WEST ONLY toward Rt. 490.
Exit next to Key Bank onto Penfield Road: CLOSED.
Both exits to NYS Rt. 250: All traffic will be directed SOUTH ONLY toward Fairport. 

Parkside Commons / ESL / Dunkin Donuts: 
Both exits to NYS Rt. 250: All traffic will be directed NORTH ONLY toward Webster.
Walgreens exits: CLOSED
All exits onto Penfield Road: CLOSED


Penfair Plaza:
Exit next to Aldi onto Penfield Road: All traffic will be directed EAST ONLY toward Walworth.
Speedway Gas station exits: CLOSED.
Exit onto NYS Rt. 250: All traffic will be directed NORTH ONLY toward Webster.
U.S. Post Office exit onto NYS Rt. 250: CLOSED

Platinum Complex:
All traffic will be directed NORTH ONLY toward Webster. 

Willow Pond Way:
All traffic will be directed WEST ONLY toward Rt. 490
