Bob Ockenden was appointed to the Penfield Town Board in January 2020, and elected in November 2020 to complete the remainder of that term. Elected again in November 2021, his current term will expire on December 31, 2025. Bob also currently serves as Deputy Town Supervisor. 

Councilman Ockenden is Chair of the Town’s Public Works Committee and is the liaison to the following boards and services: Planning Board, Fire and Ambulance Services, and Veterans Organizations.

Providing volunteer service to our community, Bob has proudly served the Penfield Fire Company for 38 years as a firefighter and also served as the District Fire Chief from 1999-2000 and from 2021-2022. Councilman Ockenden also previously served 15 years as a publicly elected Fire Commissioner for the Penfield Fire District’s Board of Fire Commissioners.

Councilman Ockenden has served as Administrator for the Pittsford Fire District for the past 26 years and also worked previously for the City of Rochester as a 911 Center Emergency Dispatcher.

Councilman Ockenden is the 4th generation Ockenden to call Penfield home. He currently resides on Henderson Drive with his wife, Colleen. Bob and Colleen have three grown children Rob, Ryan, and Megan.
