Longtime Penfield Rec staffer Paula Colombo honored with June Staff Spotlight by Supervisor Leenhouts
Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts is happy to recognize Paula Colombo’s nearly three decades of service with the June 2024 Staff Spotlight.

Since 1995, Paula Colombo has been a friendly face helping residents get signed up for the latest programs and events. Paula started as a part-time employee in 1995 and since that time she served in various part-time roles until transitioning to her current full-time role of clerk in July 2014.

In her position, she wears a variety of hats, helping with program and shelter registration, answering phones, greeting visitors, and assisting with the department’s finances.

One of the biggest items Paula is tasked with annually is organizing Penfield’s youth summer soccer league. Hundreds of kids take part in the program each year, and Paula's exceptional work in coordinating the program has been widely recognized by her colleagues.

“Paula is the cornerstone of the popular youth summer soccer league through Rec,” added Recreation Supervisor Sabrina Renner. “From getting the information out to the public to putting teams together and recruiting volunteer coaches, she is truly the key to the program’s success. The program runs seamlessly because of all her efforts.”

Penfield Recreation is a year-round operation with new events and programs regularly coming online, and Paula juggles the varying priorities with ease.

“With so much happening at Penfield Recreation each day, Paula does a great job helping to keep everything organized,” said Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts. “We are lucky to have her on our team, and I want to thank her for her contributions over the years.”

Thanks for your dedication, Paula!
