Deputy Supervisor's Note: Dedicated Town staff members keep Penfield moving forward

As many of you know, Marie Cinti announced she was resigning from her position as Penfield Town Supervisor on Monday, February 6. Marie made the difficult decision to resign to care for an ailing family member.

I can appreciate just how tough of a decision it was, and I want to thank her for everything she did for the Town of Penfield. On behalf of our Town Board and the Penfield community, I wish her nothing but the best moving forward.

This is certainly not a position I saw myself in just a few short months ago, fulfilling the duties of the Penfield Town Supervisor. However, I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to serve our community. Penfield is my home and has been for many years. It’s a special place, and I am so passionate about making sure our community is successful.

Since assuming the day-to-day duties of Town Supervisor in December when Marie initially announced her leave of absence, I have learned so much.

First and foremost, I cannot say enough about the dedication of our staff members. Change is always tough, and we have experienced that recently, but all staff members continue their work of providing excellent service to our community.

Residents often do not see what goes on behind the scenes, but I can tell you this is an exceptional group. Whether making sure roads are plowed, building inspections completed, or rec programs running, the work of our team is admirable.

As we move forward, I know there are many opportunities to make Penfield even better. Despite a change in leadership, our Town Board remains committed to improving our community and making it the best place possible to live and work.

In the short term, plans for the Shadow Pines property will continue to move forward including the Clark House. We will also continue to focus on improving communications efforts to make sure all stakeholders are informed. One such example of this is the new tool available on our website to track the latest DPW projects.

Much like when Marie was in the office, I welcome your feedback. You can reach out to the Supervisor’s Office by calling (585) 340-8630 or supervisor@penfield.org.

Thanks, Penfield. I am excited about what’s ahead for our community.

Debbie Drawe, Deputy Supervisor
