Recently, the Library Trustees and Staff Members met with community members to create a five-year, long-term strategic plan for your public library.

  • Coming soon! Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video platform that offers award-winning films, TV shows, and documentaries. Check our website in April 2023. Selected by the Penfield Library staff, Kanopy will be made available to Penfield patrons through a generous contribution by the Penfield Public Library Foundation, Inc.
  • Free access to Hoopla, Mango, Morningstar Investment, NoveList, Consumer Reports, Ancestry for Libraries (in building only), and more

    • Linda Sue Park: Very Special Children’s Author Visit

      • Recommended for ages 8 – 12
      • Meet Newbery Medal-winning author Linda Sue Park, author of bestselling books, including The One Thing You’d Save (2022), a beautifully illustrated, poetic exploration about what is really important in a middle schooler’s life.     • Marie Benedict: Lecture and Book Signing
      • Thursday, May 18, 2023, 7 p.m.
      • Meet Marie Benedict, the New York Times bestselling author of eight works of historical fiction including The Only Woman in the Room, The Mystery of Mrs. Christie, The Personal Librarian, and The Mitford Affair.  
      • This lecture will be followed by an audience Q & A and a book signing. Light refreshments will be served during the book signing. Required registration begins April 3, 2023; visit penfieldlibrary.org or call (585) 340-8720.
Step 3: Visit us in person! Enjoy a free library card, take out a book, movie, or CD, use our study rooms, sit by our fireplace, or just come to say hello. In 2022, 153,981 people came into the building, 12,678 reference questions were answered, more than 380,000 items were circulated, and over 12,000 people of all ages attended our library programs.

The more our library is used, the better it can be. From museum passes to books to eResources, the Penfield Public Library has something for everyone!
