Town of Penfield to recognize active U.S. Military with Penfield Heroes Wall

The Town of Penfield is proud to announce the creation of the Penfield Heroes Wall in partnership with Braman American Legion Post #1229.

The wall, which will be located inside Penfield Community Center’s main corridor, will honor members of the Penfield community who are actively serving in the United States Military. It will feature a photograph and a short bio of each submitted service member.

Nominees must be actively serving (active duty and reserve) in the United States Military (Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, Space Force), and have grown up or currently reside in Penfield.

To submit an individual for recognition, please complete this nomination form and submit a photo of the service member in uniform to supervisor@penfield.org. Hard copy applications and photos can also be dropped off at the Supervisor’s Office at Penfield Town Hall (3100 Atlantic Ave). Digital photo submissions should be in jpeg format, and photos dropped off must be 8x10 and printed on photo paper. When submitting, it is the responsibility of the nominator to confirm the information presented is accurate.

The wall is expected to be formally unveiled later this year with nominations accepted on a continuous basis. However, the Town encourages submissions prior to November 1 for inclusion in the initial unveiling.

“The Penfield Heroes Wall provides a unique opportunity to recognize those in our community serving our country,” said Penfield Town Supervisor Marie Cinti. “The Town extends its deepest appreciation to all service members, and we are honored to create the Penfield Heroes Wall as a small symbol of our appreciation.”

For more information, including assistance with the application process, please contact the Supervisor’s Office at (585) 340-8630 or supervisor@penfield.org.
