PPL Board Seeks a New Trustee
Penfield Public Library

Consider applying for a position as a member of the Penfield Public Library Board of Trustees. The library Board of Trustees is a nine-member panel that provides strategic direction for library operations.

The Penfield Public Library is a community resource, offering programs for children, teens, adults, and senior citizens. It provides reading and research materials, drawing on its own extensive collection and those of the entire Monroe County Library System. It serves as a focal point for the community and is staffed with helpful professionals.

Qualified trustee applicants are residents of the Town of Penfield who have a demonstrated interest in the library and represent the diversity of the community.

Trustees receive training in library operations from the Penfield Public Library Director, and through formal organizations such as the Monroe County Library System and the New York State Library Association.

Each trustee serves a five-year term. Trustees meet monthly throughout the year on the third Tuesday at 7:00pm at the Penfield Town Hall. Although the Trustees meet monthly, much work takes place in committees. While each trustee is expected to serve on two or three committees, not every committee meets every month. Committees include personnel, finance, by-laws, and communication.

If interested in applying, please ask for an application at the library or download a copy here. For consideration, you will need to submit your completed application with a resume to penfieldlibrarytrustees@gmail.com or to the Penfield Public Library, Trustee Search, 1985 Baird Road, Penfield, New York 14526 by February 28, 2023.
