Contact Councilman Rob Quinn: email@example.com
Rob Quinn was elected to a four-year term on the Penfield Town Board on November 8, 2011. Selected to fill a vacancy, Rob was appointed to the Town Board on January 6, 2010, and was first elected on November 2, 2010 in a special election.
Rob is Chairman of the Public Safety Committee and serves as liaison to Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance, the Community Television Advisory Board, the Heritage Association, and town veterans organizations. Rob also serves with Supervisor LaFountain as liaison to the town's fire districts and law enforcement organizations, and with Councilwoman Kohl on the Penfield Recreation Master Plan Committee.
Prior to serving on the Town Board, Rob was the Chairman of the Finance Subcommittee for the Penfield Bicentennial Committee, and a member of Penfield's Comprehensive Update Plan Committee and Parks & Recreation Board. He is also a past member of the Monroe County Parks Advisory Committee.
Rob is a Driver and certified New York State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance – he has been a Medic with Penfield since 2008 and a First Responder since 2010. In December 2009, Rob was elected to the corps' Board of Directors, although his appointment to the Town Board in January 2010 precluded him from continuing in that capacity. As Town Councilman, Rob continues his volunteer shifts at the Ambulance base. In October 2012, Rob became a certified CPR/AED instructor through the American Heart Association.
After receiving his Associates degree in Communications and Media Arts (2000) from Monroe Community College, Rob enrolled in classes at SUNY Albany where he completed his Bachelors degree in Social Studies (2003) and his Masters degree in History (2007) while working full-time for Senator Jim Alesi. What began as an internship through Monroe Community College, became a twelve-year career in the New York State Senate. Rob worked in both Senator Alesi’s Albany and Fairport offices, and served in a number of roles, most recently as the Senator’s Chief of Staff.
Rob is a 1998 graduate of Penfield High School, a four-year varsity swimmer, and a former page at the Penfield Public Library – shelving books was his first job. Rob also spent many seasons – one as a manager – involved in Penfield Little League, and spent many summers with his younger brother Andrew at day camps at the Bayview YMCA in Penfield.
Rob resides on Wheelock Road with his wife Michelle, daughter Mae, and son Robert, and is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Webster Montessori School in Penfield.
