The Penfield Town Historian's Office has in its care materials relevant to the founding and development of the town such as: records of events, organizations, places, persons, census records, maps, photographs and records of ongoing landmark preservation.

The Local History Room Coordinator speaks to school classes, scout troops and other groups in the Local History Room by appointment, and also conduct history bus tours for school classes and adult organizations.

Dayton's Corners School, a Living/Teaching/Learning Museum, is located at the corner of Plank Road and Creek Street. Friends of Dayton's Corners School volunteers provide a nineteenth century learning experience for visiting school classes. The one-room school house is also open to the public during special events.
