Production Assistant - Cable Television and Website

Title:  Production Assistant
Department: Cable Television and Website
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $31,435 per year

The Town of Penfield is seeking a full-time “Production Assistant,” a competitive county civil service position, to assist with the coordination of various town communications, audio, and video services.

The Production Assistant will work primarily with the Cable Television and Website department staff to fulfill the goals and priorities set forth by the department coordinator and town officials.

Employees in this position are required to work during and outside typical town business hours; often independently. The individual must possess exemplary communication skills (verbal and written) when working with fellow employees or interacting with residents, clients and vendors.

Typical employee tasks to complete the objectives of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • ·         Use of computers, A/V equipment and video production systems               
  • ·         Post production editing                                                                                  
  • ·         Media management                                                                                      
  • ·         Production                                                                                                      
  • ·         Program broadcast scheduling                                                                      
  • ·         Video field productions                                                                                  
  • ·         General office responsibilities                                                                       
  • ·         Equipment and facility maintenance                                                            
  • ·         Lifting and handling of equipment up to 50 pounds                                     
  • ·         Website and Social Media Management                                                      
  • ·         Work with outside organizations and news media

                            

Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:  Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:

  • One (1) year of paid full-time or it’s part-time equivalent in a professional capacity in television production or broadcasting; OR
  • Completion of thirty (30) semester credit hours towards a degree in Communications, Visual Communications Technology, Photography/Television or a closely related field.

 Preference may be given to applicants experienced with:

  • ·         PEG Television
  • ·         Production (Technical Director, Graphics, Audio Board, Robotic Cameras, Editing)
  • ·         Production systems (Compix, Blackmagic, Panasonic, Sony, Sigma, Roland, Sennheiser, Grass Valley, and Adobe)
  • ·         ENG style news gathering
  • ·         Broadcast engineering
  • ·         Web streaming, over the top systems (ROKU, Apple TV)
  • ·         Software (Microsoft Office 2013, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Systems, Edius)
  • ·         Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo and You Tube)
  • ·         Information technology (Archiving, networking, DOS, IP based systems)
  • ·         Website formats (HTML, PHP, JAVA, Analytics)
  • ·         sUAV Drone usage (FAA regulations, Part 107 license, DJI Systems)
