Penfield Recreation is currently soliciting program proposals for a new 50+ Daytime Education program to be offered at the Penfield Community Center beginning this fall.
The goal is to kick off a series of interesting, engaging educational and enlightening programs aimed at retired or semi-retired adults who enjoy "stimulating conversation and challenging learning" without tests or grades.
The learning modules will be set up in four to eight week sessions or weekly lectures with an emphasis on history, world cultures, languages, literature, science, philosophy and programs that focus on individual hobbies and interests. We hope to tap into a core of talented retired, semi-retired professionals, and home school teachers who would like to share their wealth of knowledge with others.
Interested instructors are asked to contact Pam Mount at the Penfield Recreation Department 340-8664. The deadline for fall proposals is June 10, 2011.
